when you wake up with a sudden urge for granola

I often make granola, you can find my recipe for it here, but since I have started to buy more stuff from zero waste shops I honestly have not had the jars to spare. Well the other morning I woke up and just had an urge, you know. I find a food urge, particularly one in the morning very hard to ignore. I had been up most of the night with the kids and they were munching their way though homemade crumpets, I always have a batch of those in the chest freezer. Mama needed to satisfy her urge, some days we just have to have those little victories.

a simple vegan stove top granola recipe no refined sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup wheatgerm
  • 3/4 mixed nuts
  • 1tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1tbsp agave
  • 2tbsp coconut oil
  • 1cinnamon

Method

  1. Heat the coconut oil in a high sided frying pan or wok.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the pan and stir over a medium heat until all of the oats and nuts are covered and begin to brown.
  3. Serve. I chose to serve mine with natural yogurt and banana.

I’m a huge fan of granola and this recipe looks right up my street. Have you heard of overnight oats? I keeping wanting to make them – something you might like too?

Ooh lush! I didnt realise that granola could be made so easily on the stove, I always thought it had to be in the oven. I have some oats left to use up so this is definitely an option for me to make. xxx

Thank you for the recipe! I don’t buy granola that often as I am the only one who eats it so I will bookmark this!

It is easy with kids they can chuck stuff in and it is fast, mine or not patient when it comes to waiting for anything really but especially food.
