Life since last year has been a roller coaster of ups and downs, health and sickness, tragedy and joy. I have tried to maintain an equilibrium to get me through the days that are hard, I have not always managed it. Even at my lowest ebbs I have somehow found the strength to carry on and grow. I gain strength from the love of those around me, from the determination to be there for them and from finding small routines and simple ways to stand up again even when life has made me very tired indeed.
I was talking with a friend recently who is finding things hard and she asked me how I do it. This question is huge and I wasn’t sure I knew how to answer without sounding flippant or trite. “You just keep going” is not really a fitting answer, in fact I believe that any answer will come out over simplified. Then I started to think that maybe even a simple fact to hang your day on may be the reason you stand up that day instead of lying down and letting bad things win. So I bring to you 6 Ways to Change Your Life. These are small things but sometimes we focus too much on waiting for or searching for huge dramatic occurrences, only to be left disappointed when they don’t occur and meanwhile neglecting to notice the hundreds of smaller things that can actually bring a rich tapestry of hope, joy and serenity to one’s life.
new beginnings sometimes come in small packages
Over the next 6 days I will share with you some of the things that have given me strength on a dark day. Given me focus when I felt empty and lost. Given me faith in myself again when all I had was disbelief.
