One of the great things about the holidays is you sit around eating indulgent things and you just don’t feel like you are being indulgent, it just feels like a natural part of Christmas. As soon as satsumas and chestnuts come into season I go crazy for them, after all if you can only have something for a limited period you feel duty bound to. In fact I eat so many satsumas over winter my fingers smell permanently of oranges. The downside is they do become a little stained orange so they smell nice but with the look of a hardened smoker, which is not so nice. I love them as they come but you can always jazz things up.
For this Christmas movie snack I simply peeled a couple of satumas and then dipped them into melted dark chocolate. I left them on baking parchment until they were fully set. See simple, not all Christmas cooking needs to be complex and arduous.
