Last year I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I have been so overwhelmed by the support and care I received from the NHS and thank them for bringing me back to health and into remission! I am a firm believer that the work done by Cancer Research UK has saved lives. Today being diagnosed with cancer your outlook is so much more promising than years ago. I have often done the Race For Life in which women run for women. This year given my personal circumstances I wanted to step it up so I went for the Shine Marathon. My dear friend and maid of honour Lucy shone with me and did the first half of the marathon with me. Our constant chatting did help the time fly by and her love and support was much appreciated. I would also like to take this opportunity to publicly thank all of those who sponsored me and gave money to such a worthy cause. The blisters are well worth the cause.
